Acromegaly

A malignant endocrinopathy due to excessive production of growth hormone by the pituitary gland.

The excessive growth hormone causes abnormally aggressive bone growth with changes in the face (brow, nose, jaw), the fingers, and the feet.   Growth hormone can also cause problems with the heart (cardiomyopathy).
