A circle of blood vessels located along the undersurface of the brain between the brain and the skull base.
Cerebral aneurysms tend to occur at junctions between the arteries that make up the Circle of Willis.
Incomplete Circle of Willis
Sometimes one of vessels that make up the Circle of Willis is congenitally absence. This will be of no significance to the patient as long as the brain receives blood flow through the remaining vessels of the Circle.
